The census is a survey taken every 10 years since 1841 and is used for producing statistics such as the number of people, percentages of ages, occupations amongst other things. Only those census over 100 years old are available for use by family
historians and can help show family relationships, ages, occupations and place of birth. However, the information may not always be accurate.
